About us: Acumen Consulting is an IT Services company created in 1994, based in St. Louis, MO.
History
About us: We started as a very small software development company that expanded into a company that provides IT Consulting, Managed Services, Computer Consulting, IT Support, and Network Support among other things. This background quickly took us into general computer services. We fixed computers, printers, and installed computer networks. Not long after gaining this experience, we began installing and managing phone systems for our clients. A few years later, we began teaching advanced technical classes nationally for CompUSA and the United States Air Force. Our expanding expertise and staff grew into many areas of IT Consulting and IT Support.

About us: We now provide a wide array of computer consulting services to the broad St. Louis region. Our latest work is in the area of Data Center management, including virtualization, high-performance computing, and system monitoring.
Our work with large businesses and schools brought a large portfolio of system imaging projects.

Robert Wagnon – Owner, Business Leader, Consultant
Robert provides the vision and strategic direction for the technology selection, methodologies implemented and service delivery models for our client base. He brings over 25 years of experience with a diverse client base and rapidly changing technological landscape to client operations. With this experience, he brings clarity to client needs and is able to consult on the best approach.
His experience encompasses wide range of technologies, information services, systems, application and software development, user interface design, training and project management. This includes business information process design and consulting, and large-scale network management, monitoring and response.
Robert earned a Bachelor of Science in System Science and Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, School of Engineering along with many industry and vendor certifications. He is a member of Rotary International and provides active support in the community.
Deborah Wagnon – Owner, Business Leader, Consultant
Deborah provides strategic direction for business operations and administration oversight. With over 25 years of experience in business management, she blends the technical strategies with client business objectives to provide a whol-istic approach to Acumen’s IT service delivery.
Her expertise encompasses a wide range of business operations and industries experience with business operations, risk management, and accounting and entity structures. Deborah has created business plans, financial models and corporate structures, established policies and procedures, implemented accounting and service systems, and developed management teams.
Deborah earned a BSBA from St. Louis University and an MBA through the Executive MBA program at Washington University in St. Louis, Olin School of Business. She holds a Certified Public Accountant license along with other vendor and software certifications. She serves on board and committees.
Gail Ford – Service Coordinator
Gail is the first level of communication for many clients and she is passionate about our client’s experience. She is the backbone of Acumen’s service delivery, ensuring client service requests are handled timely, supporting service triage, coordinating hardware procurement, scheduling service visits, ensuring thorough portal documentation, and overall client support and happiness.
She brings over 15 years of customer service, documentation processing, information technology, and project management experience. Her skill set includes administrative support, government and contract processes and procedures, data archival, and application testing and development.
Jeremy Kennedy – Senior Engineer
Jeremy provides expert support and administration for client network systems and cloud solutions. He enjoys creating lab environments to test products and validate technologies.
For 20 years, he has built diverse knowledge base with both on-premise and cloud solutions for small to mid-sized businesses. He is experienced with Microsoft Server, Microsoft Exchange, Exchange server and migrations, Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office. He has experience implementing systems and performing system migrations that include new system platforms, backup schemes, security, databases, and business operations software and proprietary software system implementations.
Jeremy earned an AAS in Electronic Engineering from ITT Technical Institute and participates in continuing technical education.
Dave Mueller – Application Development, SEO
Dave is responsible for expert service delivery on software development, web development and SEO projects.
He brings over 16 years of experience to our clients with skills encompassing a wide range of technologies from computer networks and desktop support, desktop publishing, graphic design, web and interface design, and interactive media development. His experience also includes installation and optimization of Microsoft Windows operating systems, virus protection, installation and troubleshooting for digital surveillance systems, software installation and licensing, and specialized printer maintenance.
Dave earned an Associate’s Degree from ITT Technical Institute along with many industry and vendor certifications.
Kylee Swendig – Senior Engineer
Kylee is responsible for delivering effective infrastructure design and oversight of network administration to ensure security of client systems and operational productivity. Her passion for technology is evident with her approach to ongoing professional development and intellectual curiosity of all things technological.
She brings over 7 years of experience as a systems administrator managing hardware, software, cloud-based and third-party solutions. Kylee is experienced in device security solutions, monitoring systems, networking, VoIP services, Windows & Mac OS, Active Directory / Domain management, and hardware maintenance & repair. Specializing in firewall configuration and Windows Server deployments, she supports the multi-site datacenter environment that provides cloud solutions to our clients. Kylee holds a Bachelor of Arts and is certified in CompTIA A+, Network+, Server+, and Security+.
Mike Snapp – Network Administration and Support Technician
Mike performs the technology alignments ensuring clients systems are in line with industry standards and provide operational efficiency and productivity. He delivers responsive support and timely resolution for client users and network hardware. His passion for technology and excellent service delivery is evidenced by highly rated customer surveys and interest in ongoing professional development.
Mike brings experience configuring and supporting Windows environments, configuring and troubleshooting firewalls, as well as creating scripts in PowerShell and Bash to automate and streamline delivery of technologies to clients.
Mike is currently enrolled in an IT program at Western Governors University has earned CompTIA A+ and Network+ certified and is training for the Security+ certification.
Zach Mayer – Computer Support Technician
Zach has worked in IT for 5 years, with experience working in ISPs (Internet Service Providers), security, and healthcare technology. His 10+ years in customer service enables him to provide an exceptional level of support to clients. Zach is very adaptable and has a wide range of technical computer skills, and he routinely provides high quality troubleshooting and timely results.
Wade Harris – Computer Support Technician
Wade has over 15 years experience in the IT industry, specializing in the setup, installation, and migration of Windows Domain controllers, file servers, and Exchange servers. He is an HP Certified Technician and a Toshiba Certified Technician. Wade efficiently completes setup, configuration, upgrades, and repair of workstations and laptops as well as small business routers and switches. He consistently ensures first-class solutions and outcomes.
Shawn Redfern – Accounting Manager
Shawn provides assistance with the financial oversight of the company. With over 10 years of experience in accounting and customer service with a varied background of industries, including public accounting, Shawn helps drive sound financial decisions and brings to the table a background of rich relationship building with clients and vendors alike. Shawn is currently pursuing his B.S. in Finance, while also working full time and serving on a local and regional committees and boards.
